Gearshift base is leather or not?

Anyone know if the gearshift base is made out of leather or not?

Seems quite dried up and brittle - if it's leather I was thinking about applying some leather care product on it...

If you read the sales pamphlet , the small print at the bottom , it does say ... leather* ....(* faux leather) ..... If you can have a look under one of the seats , and see if you can find an end of the material , and see if it is real leather or faux leather ..... My last car had real leather , and you can tell . And of course , the tell tether sign would be the leather smell .... lets us know .
