Hi,
I bought a dashcam for my Kia Niro EV MY20. I want to connect this with a hardware kit. So far, I have only found a connected 12V fuse that activates for every little thing (eg: door opening, interior light). My biggest problem with it is that it also activates when charging the big battery. Even when charging a small battery, this is the bigger problem, because it doesn't charge properly. I've already fiddled with all the spare fuses, but they're all the same. Which fuse should be connected to, which is only activated when the car is switched to ready mode?
Thanks
Finding switched 12V

See my post above re 'BEWARE'.
Find the fuse for the 12v socket that is ignition controlled.
Be careful what you call your car, you may end up with the wrong info.
If yours is 20 reg (old shape like mine) it is an eNiro. the new boxy shape is Niro EV.

I've found which fuse serves the 12v socket. Unfortunately it is under the bonnet so 'piggy-backing' the wire to power your camera is a no-no, because you will not be able to get the wire for the camera back into the passenger compartment.
If you are determined not to plug the camera into the 12v socket* you could always 'piggy-back' into a permanently live wire and put a switch in circuit.......or find another fuse INSIDE the car that is ignition dependent..... dashboard instruments, windows, wipers etc. study the handbook or this video. for tips.
* you could also get a double socket for the 12v outlet which allows you to run other things simultaneously.

Good luck.
