Re: Kia Niro Boot Space

It's not as simple as that, where the front seat back is located will depend on the driver, and even if you had that dimension, the tailgate slopes so your wheelchair may foul the glass, particularly if it won't fit between the wheel arch intrusions. You'd really be better trying to put your chair i...

Re: Boot space measurements please with rear seats folded

When I broke my ankle I hired a wheelchair, easily fitted in the boot with seat backs folded down and wheelchair collapsed.

Re: Niro second service advisories

Standard cash-leverage practice. Your experience should tell you something about the dealer. I don't see that advisories of the nature you describe would have any impact on warranty. My experience of a maintenance-included please agreement is that they will only approve the minimum, but in any case ...

Re: Stale Petrol?

This is a good point. I would suggest you don't charge the battery at all but let the car behave as a HEV. You're doing so few miles the economy is unimportant. Not aware of any additives that do what you say.

Re: Trickle charging a Niro hybrid?

I’ve trickle charged my flat Niro hybrid 12 volt battery overnight. 1. Where do I find the battery reset button? 2. Do any of the cars systems need resetting Presumably you have an early model Niro where the 12V battery is in the boot. Did you connect your charging leads direct to the battery, or d...

Re: Air conditioning dead

The a/c is electric, have you checked the fuse(s)? I believe you have a 2017 model, see section 8 in the manual. One of the fuses also operates the door mirror motors, another quick check. Good luck.

Re: Six Chimes

Apparently not happening all the time (quote "on occasions"). Are you turning any of the safety systems on and off? Not fastening seat belts causes chimes but it usually keeps going until fastened, not specifically 6. If none of the red lights are lit on the dash it can possibly wait for next servic...

Re: New Niro Driver

The car should initially beep and then try to not cross the line, but it is very easy for the driver to override. I wouldn't describe it as aggressive at all. If you couldn't prevent it moving back then there is a serious fault with your car. On my 2017 car there is an on-off switch to the right of ...

Re: Brake Lights

The brake lights come in in two circumstances: 1. When you press the brake pedal (also actuates regen braking) 2. When the brakes are applied by the adaptive cruise control. So, although regenerative "braking" happens when you take your foot off the gas, it is not sufficient to cause the brake light...
