Re: Minor irritation with Niro

Is yours a Niro 1 without roof rails? Mine has them and I don't get the torrents you refer to. My controls are backlit in red, sure you haven't got the dimmer switch turned down too much? Agree about the "handbrake", wish it was electric like the new EV.

Re: Do I have Lane Keep Assist or Lane Follow Assist

Apparently Lane Follow Assist is/will be available on the e-Niro. Haven't a clue what it actually is.......

Re: New to Forum - e-Niro ordered

What charging arrangements have you set up at home? Believe it takes all night on a 7kw charger, and two days for a three-pin plug!

Re: Do I have Lane Keep Assist or Lane Follow Assist

The official title is LKAS, Lane Keeping Assist System. Within this is Lane Departure Warning System. I have never heard of Lane Follow Assist related to the Niro. It seems you have your LKAS set to physically assist you insofar as the car is steering itself. There is 'standard' setting, that only o...

Re: Michelin Cross Climate - fuel economy impact?

I'm down to 4mm on the front 18" Michelin Pilots after 20,000 miles, 22 months, so should be ok until late summer when I think I'll go for the cross-climates. Now, should I have the new ones swapped with the back (6mm) , or put on the front? May be a pointless question as I understand that reputable...

Re: Foot Parking Brake

In the UK, sitting with your foot on the brake in stationary traffic would appear to in contravention of Highway Code cl 114, and the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989, cl 27. It's also bloody annoying, but that's my opinion, I'm not saying I'm right.

Re: Foot Parking Brake

Tad patronising. The vehicle should be held stationary at traffic lights etc. Yes, you can hold your footbrake on, but it's bloody annoying and dazzling for the driver behind you, especially at night.

Re: Driving tips to charge battery better.

How the HEV Niro manages its battery is a mystery, but I average around 60-75%, max 85% after a long downhill, min 40% in prolonged stop-start conditions. I wouldn't try "forcing" the battery to charge, I suspect it won't work, especially just revving the engine when stationary. If the car thinks it...

Re: Niro 3 Service Charges

Brake fluid only needs changing every two years, mileage irrelevant. Your illustration shows annual change.

Re: Niro 3 Service Charges

I've just had standard service 2 (20,000miles), and the invoice cost was £167 incl VAT, including brake fluid change. This seems to compare favourably with your £209. i paid £780 for the Care-5 plan covering the first five services. Services 1, 2, 4 and 5 are minor services, service 3 is a major. So...
