Re: Emergency braking feature
When I had a Volvo XC60 that had City Safety, I tested it with some cardboard. It worked perfectly. You could use that method with your Niro without the risk of damage.

Re: Using Economy 7 electricity to charge Niro PHEV
If there is an significant increase in overnight demand, I can see the demise of economy 7.

Re: Speed warning on sat nav
I'm guessing you may be hinting at the Speed Camera Warnings. I'm unsure if the Niro 2 has the Android Auto enabled, but I do use my smartphone as a wifi hotspot. You can get the Kia Hotspot app from Playstore and it works well if you don't have Android 8 installed on your phone. As for data usage, ...

Re: 2019 EV Niro
That is going to be a rather expensive car if it gets made as depicted.

The adaptive cruise control uses the brakes to slow the Niro when it's controlling speed on the down hills.

Re: Parking Brake Noise.
Cheers Alan, I did notice a bit of surface rust on the discs. I wasn't sure if the parking brake was inside a small drum like my previous Sorento?.

Parking Brake Noise.
I keep my car in my garage when it is not being used. When I release the parking brake to reverse out, I get a very loud crack noise. I have tried leaving the parking brake off and the cracking noise is not present when the car moves.
Can I ask if any of you owners have the same problem please?

Re: Current Car?
As ex caravaners we too have made sure we can't go back by having a car with no legal tow weight!!! Where was that picture taken, my guess is a Caravan Club site as it looks like TV sockets on the electric posts!!! Nice new 'van there, it must have been a side time to see that go. Our previous car ...

Re: Rattle
I sometimes find the tailgate doesn't shut properly, it needs a good slam to close fully. I always get the warning on the dash that it is not shut though. I have had rattles from the rear seatbelt buckles knocking on the plastic trim.

Re: Current Car?
We had a lovely Pearl White Sorento KX-4 mainly to tow our touring caravan. We decided to discontinue caravanning, so the Sorento was just too big for our needs. The Niro 4 was our choice mostly for economy and the looming diesel stigma.
