Re: Just curious....

Get the Zap Map app, then you can see what charging points there are in your area, either near home or near work or on route. How far is your daily commute, how often a week would you need to charge? The ideals are either a 7kw charger you can plug into in a car park near work or a rapid 50kw upward...

Re: UK Spec 2020 Niro

Interesting as there has been so much adverse comment on here about the foot brake being a bit ‘agricultural’ I test drove a Niro Hybrid last year and it did not bother me but In the the end I went with a Kona EV as it came out first and dispenses with the gearbox. It has an electronic parking brake...

Re: New to Niro New to Forum

The answer to your 19mpg is simple. Walk to the shop. In winter with the engine cutting in for that short trip this is not good for the engine, the exhaust system or you! The engine does not get warm. Time to walk.

No such problem with the EV version.

Re: What Niro to choose?

Like you I had an IX35 which I loved. It was a 1.7 diesel which had quite reasonable fuel economy, about 54mpg. However, having written it off I decided that diesels are now personna non grata so I would go hybrid or electric. I liked the look of the Niro and nearly bought one, spent months doing re...

Re: Using Economy 7 electricity to charge Niro PHEV

I may be jumping ahead, I think this will feature on the electric version when it appears. My experience is with the Hyundai Kona EV. You set the timer to recharge over night economy 7 or whatever time you want and set a departure time. Having charged, the car will then heat (or cool) the car for th...

Re: Using Economy 7 electricity to charge Niro PHEV

Unless you work nights, bog standard economy7 works for me, times now on GMT are 12.30 - 7.30. That is 7 hours potential charging time. Lets the car charge whilst I am in bed and it is defrosted ready to go in the morning.

Re: Unable to charge and Check Hybrid System warning

I gave up tryng to get a PHEV and was lucky to get one of the very first Hyundai Kona EV’s. I am staying on this forum because it is so much better with more informative content than the Kona forum! So many of the issues a read about on this forum are applicable to my Kona I agree the electric charg...

Re: PHEV Charging

I have now had a rolec 7.2kw charger installed, cost £204 net of subsidy.I had previously used the granny cable for about 3 weeks, that is when I can not charge for free whilst out and about. The other advantage with slow charging with the granny lead is that if you have solar PV you can on a sunny ...

Re: Belgium to UK trip in a Niro PHEV

You can use your newmotion card in the UK. Coverage not extensive, I use at my local farm shop which has a charging point I can use for free.

I got this card so I can use it abroad. Is the coverage in Belguim and France good with new motion?

Re: Lead time/waiting time

If you read the Which reports on CO2 emissions, the Niro does not do well, that is polite, it comes near the bottom for hybrids. To comply with the latest standards from September no doubt they are making some essential changes. Worth waitng for the update I suppose but some Kia dealers are in denia...
