Re: Engine running in EV mode
No worries. It's a bit of an obsession of mine not to use any fuel for as long as I can, especially as most of my driving is within a 36 mile return journey.
If you ever get a problem with the charger not working, here's a useful video I made to solve it.

Re: Engine running in EV mode
Congratulations and welcome to the world of PHEV!
That does seem strange, unless you do have the heating on when at the traffic lights. I use the heated seats and steering wheel instead when by myself in the car to make sure I don't use petrol. It never turns the engine on.

Re: Niro 3 PHEV
Congratulations, it's a great car. See if you can beat my 3401 miles on a single tank of fuel! With 200 range left...

Re: Phev v hev
I've heard of many people with various different EV only using a 13 amp "granny charger". I used it a couple of times before my charger was installed but the electrics in my house weren't up to it and the socket got very hot so I stopped using it immediately. I'd be wary of using the grann...

Re: Phev v hev
I've recently managed 3402 miles on one tank in my PHEV and had 180-190 left in the tank. I rarely need to travel beyond the 33-36 mile real world range. When I do 160 mile journeys like last week I can get 95 MPG and I think the 10-15% battery left when the remaining battery-only range is zero (and...

Re: whats the best mpg achieved over 100 mile plus drive
I should have said above, I was driving my PHEV for that 91.3mpg run.
I'm currently on over 3300 miles for this tank of fuel with 190 left. My last fill-up was nearly nine months ago and 235 miles away. It's a shame I have two airport runs for family this month as I have to burn fossil fuel...

Re: whats the best mpg achieved over 100 mile plus drive
My first journey was from the the dealer to back home almost a year ago and was 149 miles. I have a photo of the trip stats showing I got 91.3mpg. Mostly motorway driving on the M25 including the Dartford Crossing and some jams. Very impressive. Since then I've only done a couple of 100+ mile trips ...

A bit off topic, but I use "Alfred" and an old Android mobile phone.
