Re: Kia Niro 1.6 GDi 3 negative or positive live

All modern cars have the negative terminal of the battery earthed. I'm not sure if this answers your question, it is so weirdly phrased.

That horizontal brake light is a legal requirement nowadays, so if you remove that you are breaking the law.

Re: Brake Lights

If you look at the regenerative, grey part of the display there is a thin bit to start, then it goes thick. As far as I can determine the brake lights come on (roughly) where you go into the thick part, whether through the foot brake or cruise control or whatever. This is also the point at which the...

Re: Eco v Sport mode

If I'm first in line at the lights I slip into Sports mode, for a quick getaway, especially if multiple lanes, leave all the others behind. Also when pulling away at a roundabout if it's busy, can slip into a smaller gap.

Re: steering wheel controls

I used to worry about this, but having had mine over a year now I can honestly say it doesn't matter at all. I know all the controls by touch and feel, and I can hear how loud the radio is when I turn it up or down.

Re: Niro in winter conditions - advice please

I live in Norfolk and just had our first winter in our Niro 4. It wasn't a harsh winter, but we had some ice and plenty of rain and the Niro coped really well , on what are probably similar roads to the Chilterns, and is currently doing just over 60 to the gallon. I will also say that it coped a lot...

Re: High beam assist

I had a Qashqai before my Niro4, and to be honest I gave up using the high beam assist. So often it would fail to dip fast enough and I would be scrambling for the manual dip. It was particularly useless on hills and corners. With the Niro I know where I am.
