Re: PHEV or HEV??

I have just done a little over 5000 miles in my Niro PHEV. I have recorded all petrol fill-ups and now calculated that I average 215 mpg. Admittedly much of my driving is rural into town and back ( a round trip of about 20 miles) so can rely on only electric. However, have also done round trips on m...

Re: Kia Dealers.. Good..Bad ..or Indifferent?

Hi simongw . Note you live north of the border, I live just south of the same border, many of us here are looking to move across post Brexit! Dealers, around Newcastle, Carlisle I have found to excellent and when a mistake does occur are quick to apologise and refund. My only only criticism could b...

Re: New to hybrid.

I have had my PHEV just a few months now and love it. So much better than the Toyota CHR hybrid I had before. I agree with jerrytaff. I'd add that if you want impressive overtaking, drop out of EV and into hybrid, then slip into sports mode. I live in a rural area and find it very useful to do that ...

SatNav display

Apologies if this is a "noddy" question. I can't find an answer online or in the manual- or on this forum. So, question: On the full screen satnav display there is a button on the left hand side which says "Auto" and above it is a countdown in distance (eg 400 yds, 300 yds etc). It seems poss...

Re: Driving tips to charge battery better.

I used to have Toyota CHR hybrid. Much the same discussions as here can be found on the CHR forum. FWIW, doing a petrol fill to fill for working out mpg gave me around 56- less than the trip computer said. And it, too, suffered in the cold weather- probably by at least 10%. Battery charge was usuall...

Re: Kia Dealers.. Good..Bad ..or Indifferent?

One reason I was prompted to trade in my Toyota CHR was my more recent experience with Toyota dealers. It has been dire....two separate dealers. I live in rural SW Scotland so have limited access to dealerships. Both the two Toyota dealers I used lacked care, failed to follow up on my requests for q...

Re: new niro owner

Hi. Two days ago I picked up my Niro PHEV. Traded in Toyota CHR hybrid. Very pleased so far with the PHEV. Prefer it to the CHR. Doing mainly journeys that are round trips of about 30 miles. The trip computer shows doing 350 mpg. Tried Sports mode- impressive! The tech is a lot easier to use compare...
