Re: Is Kia customer service always rubbish ?

I only have one lot of experience of Kia service (Allen Kia / Ford, Solihull) but didn't have any issues - car collected and returned on the same day, cleaned, courtesy call follow up received to check everything was okay. Compared to previous experience of Mazda and Skoda dealers in the central War...

Re: New Niro 3 Petrol consumption

With the end - hopefully - of the cold weather my fuel economy has gone up by about 10mpg for my 11 mile trip to / from work. When it was cold I was getting as low as circa 43mpg but on a careful drive home yesterday it exceeded 60mpg according to the trip computer, with the typical "normal" drive d...

ESC is on. everything else just as it was delivered. Just have to be alert and keep foo ton pedal until ready to move off.
Ditto; I have not turned anything off and besides, it is an infrequent intermittent issue so more characteristic of a glitch.

Re: Brake release.

I've had it too, on more than one occasion, where I've taken my foot off the footbrake and the car has immediately rolled backwards - not one or two seconds later, but straight away. Have you put the car in neutral when you are stopped? I believe this cancels the hill-assist. No, for the most recen...

Re: New to kia

Yes, suspect this is to manage the long term battery life (lithium batteries will do a very large number of small charge / discharge but less deep discharges before performance degrades). I've had all the way up to fully charged a few times - but it took 10 miles of constant downhill down a mountain...

Re: The (lack of) future of diesel

I don't specifically want to avoid diesel, what I am wary about is buying a diesel now and then getting hammered on RFL or not being allowed to drive it to a whole host of places if government or metro mayors really start to push on the local NOx and PM issues. Up to now the iX35 is looking like a g...

I suspect the HHA only works is the footbrake is pressed quite firmly; the last time I have the rolling back I'd been...

Re: The (lack of) future of diesel

It looks like an Outlander PHEV can be had for about £13k still with sensible mileage, down as low as about £8k if you are prepared to risk buying something with about 130,000 miles on the clock (I'm not, for that type of money!) Will have a look at one but I suspect the wife's opinion will be that ...

The (lack of) future of diesel

So... my wife is changing job and is going to have to do some travel in her new role. This will require her to visit people's homes in a rural area. Her current car, an ex-hire Zafira which we bought at exactly 1 year old with 10k miles on the clock for a shade over £9,000 has given us nigh on 70,00...
