Re: Audio system losing DAB radio

I noticed recently that the DAB signal cuts out when there are double decker buses or certain lorries nearby (next to my car) as I'm driving.

Re: Spare wheel

You need to remove both the upper and lower foam storage units under the boot floor, then the full size wheel and tyre fits perfectly in the space. There's even room just about to put in a wheel brace and jack. I'll take a photo later and upload it here.

Re: Spare wheel

Yesterday I reversed over a blade in a supermarket car park and the tyre was damaged beyond repair. I'm so glad I had bought the full size spare wheel now. Getting a replacement tyre today.

Re: Google Maps navigation volume?

You're not seeing this option when the phone is running in Android Auto because it's a deliberately simplified interface, to promote safer driving. To see the volume settings you refer to, you need to unplug your phone from the car, run Google Maps directly on it, then: 1. Press the 3 lines button i...

Re: Lane Keep Assist

I've had it work with green lane markings in the past. I think it may be partly due to the colour, but also the width of the lane has an effect - if it's too narrow or too wide, the LKAS will not work.

Re: Niro PHEV compared to Hyundai Ioniq plug-in?

Whilst I know that this is a Niro forum, since you're concerned about boot space, have you considered the Kia Optima Estate PHEV? They can be had nearly new (67 plate) for less than £25,000.

Re: elec drive question

I have noticed that my Niro First Edition usually uses the petrol engine to pull away (rarely it will pull away in pure electric mode unless you just lift off the brake and let it pull away slowly by itself). However once it is up to maybe 15 miles per hour, you can lift off the throttle and reapply...

Re: When to use HEV setting rather than EV ?

It might be worth switching the vehicle manually to HEV if your journey is over 30 miles and starts with dual carriageways/motorways, leaving you the 30 miles of charge to use when you get to a built-up area. You might also consider using HEV mode at the start of the journey as the engine will run a...

Re: 6 weeks in....so what's it like?

To zoom in on the map, you can turn the right hand knob clockwise.

I prefer the way Kia have set the front parking sensors to only activate if you've gone into reverse (and then not exceeded about 10 mph in drive), or manually press the button, otherwise they would forever be going off in traffic.

Re: Niro and snow

Lane assist is a camera in the rear view mirror assembly. Assuming the autonomous emergency braking sensor is the same as the radar cruise sensor, it's a small plastic square in the lower grille. Like dmrodgers, I've had that sensor clog up twice in the snow as it picked up a film of ice, and made t...
