Re: Niro and snow

I've had no problems in my Niro during the recent snow. Even though it's an automatic, in regular Eco mode, there is a very gentle throttle mapping and so it's fairly easy to make progress. Also as a front wheel drive vehicle, it's generally much more stable than rear-wheel drive cars. The only prob...

Re: New to kia

The main thing is to plan ahead and avoid braking hard. Allow the vehicle to coast where possible and brake lightly in traffic. Also keep the speed below 65mph wherever possible.

Re: Kilometres per hour

If you have an android phone, you can run the Waze app in Android Auto mode. It includes a GPS speedometer which you can set to KM/H or MPH.

Re: Current Car?

Before my Niro, I had a 2007 Mercedes GL420 CDI. It was a lovely car when it worked, but alas it was riddled with electrical, suspension and engine problems. The air suspension had gone on 3 corners and cost £3000 to fix, then the 4th corner went. I also had an oil leak from the engine which I was a...

Re: Working out running costs

Having the heater on appears to have a huge impact on fuel economy. Try using the Driver only setting where possible and, as the weather warms up, turn it off completely to improve your MPG.

Re: Prospective new Niro owner

I can answer a couple of questions: 1. The ride is pretty firm on the 18" wheels but not terrible. You'll certainly notice it on London's terrible streets. 3. There are some hard plastics in places, but the major touch points (arm rests, steering wheel, seats and controls, central cubby lid) are goo...

Re: ANDROID AUTO™ AND APPLE CARPLAY™ FOR LATEST KIA MODELS

I recommend persevering with Waze as it does include an accurate speedometer which changes to red as you reach or exceed the speed limit. It also has a little ring around the speed which helps indicate how close you are to the speed limit while you are below it.

Re: Niro First Edition - Long Term Review

Same here as djbobbins. I had to set the interval myself to 10,000 miles or 1 year from the date of first registration. After the service, I checked it was reset correctly for next time. Also worth noting is that you should ensure the underbody inspection is done at the service every 2 years at leas...

Mine do the same. The automatic lights in my previous cars also did the same.

Re: Connected services with BT Wifi and no smartphone

*smiles* I'm certainly not disappointed, merely surprised that it works so well even with a FON hotspot. I don't use the connected services in any case since I prefer to use Android Auto in my car, but for those that do, during periods that WiFi drops out, they would potentially lose access to live ...
