Re: Hybrid Battery Charge Level
I reached 100% charge just by slow driving around local roads, though there was no gradients either up or down. The smell was not acrid, but indicative to me of warm components. Academic really, as I've never got anywhere over 75% since. The software update recall that stopped a hesitation from dece...

I've been a bit dim. Just realised the update also changed the satnav route selection and the destination arrival graphic.

Re: Flat Battery
Realised I'd been doing journeys of under 5 mls in heavy traffic so lead/acid battery was not charging. Couple of longer runs have sorted the unlocking. Presumably the alternator only works when the petrol engine is running?

Re: Flat Battery
During the last week I have found the car often refuses to unlock on the first press of the fob button. 3/4 attempts have been needed. When I then lock it again and try an immediate unlock it works first time. It seems as though it goes to sleep?

You're not suggesting carrying a trolley jack in the car?Ritz wrote:I have a trolley jack as I wouldn't trust any manufacturers jacks unless in a real emergency by the side road.

Re: Foot Parking Brake
The handbook says the engine only charges the battery in "D" or "P" - no charging in "N". That is why I use "P" in stop/start situations.

Re: Foot Parking Brake
I agree I use the parking break only when leaving the vehicle parked. When I'm in stop/start traffic or at traffic lights I only use "P". I've also set the door unlock to when "P" is used. Whilst maybe leaving you more vulnerable, it is far more convenient when picking people and...

In the UK there are four levels of trim: Niro 1, Niro2, Niro3, and Niro FE. 1 and 2 have 16"/40cm wheels. 3 and FE 18"/45cm wheels. They have increasing levels of equipment, and the FE has ADAP and smart cruise control. 16" wheels supposedly give a more comfortable ride. In the UK ori...
