Re: Autocar - long-term impressions of the Kia Niro

A strange thing for me with the Niro is that fuel consumption is best in slow moving traffic. Travelling 120 km / hr gives the worst results for petrol usage- judging from the information on the dash. If I really put the boot down, I pay for it! I haven't yet done an independent mileage check. Will...

Re: Waiting game

Called in at my local dealership yesterday; they said there is a ship due to arrive in the UK in late May - this could explain why a number of people have got delivery dates of late May / early June. Dealer was very helpful in showing me around a Niro 2; looks like I might need to be ordering some r...

Re: Waiting game

Checked my scheduled delivery date again today. From order date of 12th Feb, delivery into dealer stock remains scheduled for 27th May. I am guessing I will receive it one to two weeks later. That will make it just under four months from order to receipt - I'll console myself that over a third of th...

Re: New First Edition

61mpg is good but I don't see it as spectacular. My current Skoda Yeti, despite having the aerodynamics of a brick, regularly achieves 60mpg on motorway driving and on an Eco-run a couple of years ago, I achieved a trip-computer displayed 74.3mpg on a trip from North Staffs hospital in Stoke to home...

Re: Waiting game

Resigning myself to around July time, just hope it's here before summer hols. Anyone bought any accessories roof bars, rear bumper protection film? My timescale was driven by the end of my current lease car contract and also summer holidays - got a trip to the French Alps, Turin and maybe the Med p...

Re: Waiting game

I ordered exactly the same car, colour and ADAP on 16th Feb; I am being told by Lex (my company's fleet provider) that it is due in stock on 27th May and delivery to me will probably be a week or so after that.

Hope yours arrives in a more timely manner!

Re: Hybrid Battery Charge Level

I suspect the calibration is fine but the software which manages the battery is set to preserve battery life (by which I mean long term condition rather than short term charge level). I understand lithium ion batteries are likely to last best if kept between 25% and 75% charged; I'm not sure the sam...

Re: Autocar - long-term impressions of the Kia Niro

Mine has not yet been delivered (Niro "2" with ADAP scheduled for delivery late May / early June). Pre-order experience was good (from local dealer) and not so good (from Kia UK - despite multiple requests from my company's fleet provider they never got around to arranging the demonstrati...
