Re: Hello

My 16” tyres were changed at 2.5mm tread or thereabouts (it’s a Lex Autolease car and they won’t change them before that). I’d done about 29k miles at the time, albeit a good few thousand of that (4K, at least) on two European road trips with long stints of motorway driving at constant speed, which ...

Re: Sat Nav

I tend to use google maps anyway (via Apple CarPlay) - in all honesty, I think the traffic updates / planning is better, particularly away from motorways. I have had a couple of occasions where the Kia sat-nav has taken me off a motorway because it looked busy, only for the alternative route to be e...

Re: Hello

Yes, the 2017 “2” has the 16” wheels. I know a lot of the fuel economy impact will be down to driving style, use of air con etc. I have had over the 72mpg published average from my car but only on specific occasions (long trips on the motorway with large sections of 50mph average speed cameras).

Re: Hello

I drove a first edition on the test drive but opted for a 2 owing to lower company car tax. Miss my heated seats that I had in the Skoda Yeti before... I didn’t find the ride on the test drive terrible - it was quite a while between then and taking delivery of my car but I don’t recall it being a hu...

Re: Solar

Not sure how domestic battery prices have developed over the last 18 months, but when I had my solar panels installed in the UK last summer there were two key factors which put me off the idea of getting storage at the same time. Firstly, the batteries don’t actually improve your resilience (in the ...

Asthmatic air con after long journey

Anyone else experienced air con problems after a long journey? We did about 400 miles with only one short (5 - 10 minutes) break recently, in conditions that started at about 16 centigrade and misty, finishing at 30 degrees and baking sun. By the end of the journey the air con was nigh on useless - ...

Re: Kia Niro 2 leak

At risk of causing offence, are you sure it isn’t just condensed water dribbling out of the air con after you have parked the car?

Do you get the same leak if you’ve driven around without the air con on?

Re: Niro in winter conditions - advice please

My Niro was okay in the snow and cold weather; more important to get some decent winter tyres or Michelin Crossclimates than go for 4x4.

Re: Hybrid and PHEV upgrade for 2019

Actually, on a second read through - Seboni is correct, it is phrased in such a way that LED headlights might not be specable as an option PHEV?
