Re: SATNAV speed camera warning
I bought a TP-Link M7350 V4 LTE-Advanced Mobile Wi-Fi unit which is permanently left in the car plugged into the USB socket in the central armrest cubby. It is loaded with a Data only pay as you go SIM and I don't need to use my phone. I was forever leaving the phone in the car before I bought the T...

Re: OEM Tyres
If you read tyre reviews on the web you will find that the Michelin Energy tyres which are designed for economy - are not as grippy in the wet as some other tyres. When my tyres need changing I will be using Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tyres which have much better wet grip performance at the...

Re: Niro is already 5th Kia best selling car
My dealer claims that they are selling twice as many Sportages than Niros. One reason might be the long delivery on some Niro models especially if ADAP is a requirement.
The big flop is the Soul EV - they have sold very few.

Re: Car starter external batteries
PhilB, thanks for the post. Not much point having the booster pack in the boot! Just been out and put the booster and extension lead under the driver's seat. Have found the + ve terminal in the fuse box. Is the -ve connection the bolt in the silver mount with 'HEV' engraved in it? Good point about ...

Re: Real world fuel economy
I do not have much faith in the mpg displays in cars - hence keep a record of all fuel added to the car - brimming the tank absolutely full every time. Being an anorak I have also had the odometer checked and found that it is about 1% pessimistic. This is the spreadsheet summary of all fuel added si...

Re: Alloy Wheels
I am toying with the idea of changing the wheels to 16" Dezent TV dark alloys shod with Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tyres which have much better wet grip and are claimed by independent testers to reduce cabin noise compared with the Michelin Energy Savers. The total cost of the new whee...

Niro Seat height
Those who have migrated from a Venga to a Niro will have noticed that the Niro has a lower seat height. My wife, who has less flexibility than me – misses the higher seating position of the Venga. After a few grumbles over the past 3 months I decided to do something about it – so I made some 25 mm t...
