Re: Asthmatic air con after long journey

I have a phev but have used the air conditioner extensively, some on trips of 150 miles or so. It tends to be dry here in New Mexico, but I have not had this problem, regardless of weather. We are in our rainy season now. Makes sense to me that could happen if it was very humid and hot. The only oth...

Re: Rear brake discs

I would take it in. I have noticed the break rotor surfaces being rusty after rain, and having it parked, but never noticed any difference between the front and rear. All is removed after the first drive. This would presume you are not using the parking brake when you have it stopped.. Parking brake...

Solar

I know it is not cost efficient, but I have other reasons to explore solar. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a solar hook up, that may provide charge for a PHEV, Preferably something on amazon. This is the USA so we are on AC as opposed to DC. I would guess a solar panel to a series of batteri...

Re: Phev v hev

Ten miles(geese louise). I will not reset the mileage indicator for a whole days travel. It seems to reset upon a new charge hookup at the end of the day. But I think you can manually reset it, if you want for each trip or part of a trip. The overall mileage indicator I have not reset it since I bou...

Re: Phev v hev

I here in the states, charge on the 120 normal use outlet, having one in my carport. Takes quite a while so there is that. 7 hours for a complete charge. The absolutely lowest MPG in the states is 58, on a two hundred mile trip into the mountains, a lot on dirt roads, to camp. My average trip to the...

Re: Driving tips to charge battery better.

My experience has been driving in sport mode in the PHEV in the city, will recharge the battery pretty quickly. However the down side is it uses more gas while one is doing that. But if for some reason I absolutely needed to have some charge, that is what I would do. Coasting on long downhills does ...

Re: Niro in winter conditions - advice please

I drove only once in snow just after purchase. But I did change to snow tires and wheels about immediately after purchase. It did fine. Not as great as my Subaru crosstrek with snowtires,, as that is AWD, but pretty good. I went with the German brand sold here as Continental, for nonstudable snow tir...

Re: Kia Niro 2 leak

Just wanted to mention, I just had my PHEV serviced here in the US, and they had a recall of a tiny gasket in the cooling system. It only took a tiny bit of time to have this gasket replaced. Don't know if this applies to other Niros, or if it is present outside of the US. Expect one could check the...
