Re: Why emissions and mpg differences ?

I think it'd only make sense to have the 16" wheels if you are a company car driver and it was going to reduce the benefit in kind charge and the VED as well as the fuel consumption. I suspect there is very little chance of the government allowing drivers to pay less tax as a result of changing...

Re: Why emissions and mpg differences ?

If it's any consolation, I puzzled over the issue and went for a "2" spec with ADAP, but if I could have had the "3" on 16" wheels I probably would have done. Will miss the heated seats in my current car :-(

Re: Why emissions and mpg differences ?

18" wheels might be slightly heavier but I think the main effect is higher rolling resistance owing to the greater width of the tyre. 225mm wide = nearly 10% wider than the 205mm 16" boot, so more rubber to stick to the road. Good for going around corners maybe, but not helpful for economy.

Niro 2 + ADAP; May

Hi all Having posted a few things in other topics, I thought it was time to introduce myself. I'm a company fleet driver, doing about 20,000 miles per year of mixed driving (motorways, rural lanes and a-roads, plus bits of urban driving). As I was coming to the end of my existing lease deal (a Skoda...

Re: Full size spare

Not a full size but from a bit of Googling this morning, I was able to find a space saver kit - 16" wheel, tyre, jack and brace for under £130. https://www.thewheelshop.co.uk/kia-niro-16-space-saver-spare-wheel-lifting-jack-and-wheel-brace.html (I've got no affiliation with the company in quest...

Re: Boot undertray

That's really helpful, thank-you. I will be having a think about getting a spare wheel (even if only a space saver) as I've seen people get caught out by splitting a sidewall on a tyre, having no spare and being miles away from somewhere to get it changed. In my case the company fleet provider cover...

Re: Boot undertray

Does that mean it's onto the metal or is there a lower profile liner / carpeted floor in the boot?

I know I ought to have checked when I test drove the car, but the test car was the sales guy's own vehicle and had his golf clubs in the boot!

Re: Do you want to tow with the Kia Niro?

The most recent news is that this is no longer true, Kia UK confirmed to me that they have no plan to bring the towing option to the UK as they do not believe there is any demand.

Boot undertray

My Niro 2 is in order and due for delivery (hopefully) in late May. When we test drove, one of the slight concerns we had was about the size of the boot (bearing in mind the other vehicles we were considering were a Skoda Octavia or Superb estate). The width and (front to back) depth of the boot see...
