Clutch recall
Anyone actually had any physical work done as part of the clutch recall? I got my letter in late October and it has taken Lex and their preferred garage until recently to schedule the work for 14/01. Seeing as how the car hasn’t caught fire yet (!) I’m hoping it will last another week or so but i’m ...

TPMS issues in cold weather
So... minus 4 centigrade this morning here. We drove a few miles into town to drop my wife’s car off for its MOT, then set off up the A46 at 70mph. After a couple of miles at cruising speed, OSR tyre pressure warning despite it being 32psi and the others all being 33 (per dashboard readout). No ill ...

Re: Boot undertray
The layout in my Niro 2 must be different than your variant - in mine the tools are all in the polystyrene moulding in the wheel well - so all still under the new plywood floor.

Re: Boot undertray
Hi djbobbins...not sure I would want to be sat in the back seats. A rear end shunt would turn that ply into a guillotine. This was a good point and something that has played on my mind. Before converting the car back into "holiday mode" (i.e. taking out the false floor installing my plywo...

Re: Downhill battery full charge causes engine noise
I took my Niro to the Alps last summer and experienced the same thing - the drive from the mountain resort down into the valley was about 15km of downhill, mainly switchback roads. The battery gets to fully changed and then the internal combustion engine kicks in; my assumption is that this is to pr...

Re: Using Economy 7 electricity to charge Niro PHEV
I work in the electricity industry and I would hazard a guess that economy 7 will disappear soon, but not because of the uptake of EV charging. Smart meters will move many more domestic tariffs onto shaped prices, where there will be cheap blocks overnight and potentially during the middle of the da...

Re: Michelin Cross Climate - fuel economy impact?
It's currently on about 16,250 miles. I had a look at the tyres again today and may have been a bit eager with my comment about life, I haven't done a tread check but visually I guesstimate they still have about 4mm of tread; I suspect it might be towards 25k miles before the lease company will agre...

Re: Paint quality - ocean blue metallic
I don't know about PCP handover; I am fortunate that my car is on a lease through my employer, who hitherto at least seems to take a pragmatic view that a four year old car with 80,000 miles on the clock isn't going to look showroom fresh. My previous two lease cars were a Mazda 5 (metallic burgundy...

Re: Michelin Cross Climate - fuel economy impact?
That sounds like good news, just need to convince the lease company to actually fit them now!
