Re: Best and Worst Thing About Your Niro

why didn't they just put a heated front windscreen in the car? My understanding is that Ford patented their system for heating the front screen and that Volvo, and BMW (possibly others? ) pay royalties to Ford, but I can understand it if some companies like Kia baulk at that. There are alternatives...

Re: Charging PHEV

I have the same quandry, but I don't think that Podpoint is the solution for me. It only lists 2 of the 15 plus chargepoints I know about in my home town, and none on Skye where I will be going for my holiday this year. Zapmap lists 4 on Skye that are compatible with the Niro; 3 operated by ChargePl...

Re: Considering buying HEV version of Niro

I guess that not many of us on this UK forum have experience of driving in the extreme conditions that you have in Estonia. In fact, many of us can get by on summer tyres all the year around, so our limited experience on snow will be a lot more exciting than yours if you have studded tyres. Although...

Welcome!
As you'll probably be the first EV owner here, I am sure that there will be plenty of interest in your experiences in buying and owning the car.

Re: Car won't start

Did you get an Owner's Manual with the car? Section 7 in the Manual describes the jump start. However, the manual is a bit confusing. The section on the Interior Overview (Section 2-4) has button 12 (only found on switch panel type B) described as 12V Battery Reset switch (plug-in), when I believe i...

Re: All about Connected Services - check these links.

Thanks for all the feedback... Since my original post, I've changed phones which sorted many of the issues, and can now mix and match between AA and in-car, nav and media. However, I've still had issues where it loses connection to AA. Disconnecting the usb cable and reconnecting it normally clears ...

Re: Kia Niro: Maps & Software update

there are 15 pages of discussion on the subject here: https://www.kiaownersclub.co.uk/forum/#/topics/39834?page=1 to save some time....the 15 pages can be summarised as follows: 1. maps are supplied by HERE. 2. They seem to be over a year out of date at the point when Kia make the annual update avai...

Re: Clutch recall

Although the UK announcement above was in August, the recall was filed by Kia in the States to the NTSA on 20th April 2018 under NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V257000. See https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2017/KIA/NIRO%252520HYBRID/SUV/FWD#recalls Digging a bit deeper, it appears that Kia started investigat...
