Re: ANDROID AUTO™ AND APPLE CARPLAY™ FOR LATEST KIA MODELS

I recommend persevering with Waze as it does include an accurate speedometer which changes to red as you reach or exceed the speed limit. It also has a little ring around the speed which helps indicate how close you are to the speed limit while you are below it.

Re: Niro First Edition - Long Term Review

Same here as djbobbins. I had to set the interval myself to 10,000 miles or 1 year from the date of first registration. After the service, I checked it was reset correctly for next time. Also worth noting is that you should ensure the underbody inspection is done at the service every 2 years at leas...

Re: Automatic lights

Mine do the same. The automatic lights in my previous cars also did the same.

Re: Connected services with BT Wifi and no smartphone

*smiles* I'm certainly not disappointed, merely surprised that it works so well even with a FON hotspot. I don't use the connected services in any case since I prefer to use Android Auto in my car, but for those that do, during periods that WiFi drops out, they would potentially lose access to live ...

Niro First Edition - Long Term Review

I bought my Kia Niro First Edition on 24th April 2017. It was GWR Kia's demonstrator and it had 1394 miles on the clock. I originally agreed to buy it on 10th April but they later told me they weren't allowed to sell it on until it was 90 days old. I paid £22995 for the car and got a very generous v...

Re: Connected services with BT Wifi and no smartphone

Let us know how you get on away from home. As a fairly technical person (mobile app developer) myself who has BT Wifi as well, I'd be surprised if you could get it to work in the car away from home, as the Kia Niro doesn't appear to have the facility to connect to BT Wifi from a non-home hotspot wit...

Re: Connected services with BT Wifi and no smartphone

You may find that your connected services disappear as soon as you drive out of range of the smart hub (ie. away from home).

Re: Spare wheel

I bought the full size spare wheel from Jennings motor group: https://www.jenningsmotorgroup.co.uk/shop/view/g5f40ak100-kia-niro-alloy-wheel-18/ and bought a matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyre from blackcircles.com. It cost a fair amount, but I wanted to feel more secure in the event of a puncture o...

Re: Mode button - LH side of steering wheel.

One solution is to play your MP3 files via Bluetooth on the phone. Alternatively, use Android Auto or Carplay for a better experience, especially if you have a lot of data and one of the music subscriptions. I have a google play music subscription and I do like being able to play pretty much any son...

Re: Fuel consumption

True - I run the heater to defog the windows and warm up the car, then switch it off after a few minutes, since I figure the car engine will be running for the first few minutes anyway.
