Re: Distance travelled on EV only on Niro hybrid . NOT PHEV
The point of the HEV is that the electric motor provides assistance to the petrol engine. Occasionally, a HEV will run along on electric power if conditions are right, a complex algorithm decided by Kia. You as a driver have no direct control, the car uses engine-only, engine+motor, motor only as it...

Re: PHEV self charging methods
The main (only?) reason to switch from a HEV to a PHEV is to use less petrol, the difference being made up when the PHEV is charged by plugging in. Not sure why you're telling us about your free fuel card, although a large number of company car drivers with such cards never bother plugging their PHE...

Re: keep engine running for air con bomb
The air con in the Niro is electric and doesn't need the engine unless the battery needs to be recharged, in which case the engine will start itself. Never tried it, so not sure if you can leave the ignition on, in Park, and exit the car, leaving the key behind. If you can, then you're good to go fo...

Re: Engine cuts out when brakes applied
A puzzling one, but why do you think something is wrong.. Assuming you're talking about a hybrid, the petrol engine shuts off / restarts by design. It's hardly noticeable and virtually inaudible usually. What is happening that is so annoying, is the car jerking or what? Has it just started happening...

Re: HEV very poor MPG
Then I'd say there's definitely something wrong with your EV system. I've got the same car as you. I don't use Sport often, but in this mode it is very quick with bags of power, probably at the expense of fuel economy. Back to the dealer, insist that a technician drives it. Good luck,

Re: HEV very poor MPG
I assume your driving habits are unchanged. I would surmise that the EV system is not providing enough assistance to the petrol engine which is therefore doing most of the work on its own. If this is the case then the latest mpg is in line with a 1600cc petrol engine. Try driving in Sport mode and s...

Re: Latest maps version
What is your vehicle? Mine's a 2017 HEV, I suspect yours is a newer Electric.
General suggestion to everyone, add your vehicle version as a signature in your posts, saves lots of confusion.

I'd like to take that up with the dealer. Can you post a photo of your purple screen showing the version numbers. Thanks

Re: 2020 kia niro Mud Flaps
I had mudflaps fitted by the dealer. Look neat, but not particularly effective at keeping the car clean!
