Re: Niro self charging hybrid wouldn’t start
My car refused to start first thing in the morning in the home garage a couple of months ago. Called Green Flag and the technician noticed that the rear hatch was not fully closed when he went to check the 12v Battery in the boot.. He tested the battery and it was flat - probably because the boot in...

AC failure and Oil Warning Light On
Two weeks ago the aircon stopped blowing cold. My wife had told me a few days before that she could hear a "tinkling" noise from behind the dash - which I could not hear despite wearing hearing aids. I did a bit of investigation and eventually found that the noise vanished when the AC was ...

Re: Updating maps
Hi All. Thanks Alanho. After your 'review' I think I will not bother and continue to use Android auto etc! Was the media system/ car software though updated as well, which I might need to consider doing? h2onorth The maps and software are updated with one surprise in our area. My new maps show a ne...

Re: Updating maps
I found that the process is straightforward - provided you have a PC and accustomed to using memory devices. I went to the following website to identify which type of satnav was fitted to my 2017 Niro HEV.......https://update.kia.com/EU/E1/updateNoticeView/624/pop2 I hit a minor problem with the KIA...

Re: Foot Parking Brake
I guess that KIA had an eye on the USA market when it designed the car. I lived in the USA for a year in the 1990's and most cars there had foot brakes. I also had a series of Dodge cars when I lived in the Middle East for 12 years and I am thereby used to foot operated parking brakes. Hence the fea...

Re: Irritating Thumb Prints above the Lock on Rear Hatch
The problem occurs when opening the hatch - we both have arthritis and our thumbs contact the outside of the car when squeezing the opening pad.
On a mucky day when cars are dirty - walk down a supermarket car park and see the state of other car hatches - we are not alone.

Irritating Thumb Prints above the Lock on Rear Hatch
Having a white car I am irritated by the mucky thumb prints that regularly appear above the rear hatch lock. I spotted this 3M double backed reflective strip on Amazon a couple of days ago and fitted a piece this morning. I supposed I could have used clear tape or wrap – but that always seems to gat...

Re: New to Niro 4 Hybrid
The only rattles I get are from the rear seatbelts (buckles against hard plastic). I tend to keep them buckled up even when not carrying passengers. Otherwise my car is silent apart from tyre/road noise (with the occasional intrusion of the ICE). My Niro 2 has slots in the wheel arch plastic trim a...

Re: Switching to HEV from EV
For me it is interesting, but a rather academic matter. The engine has a 7 year or 100,000 mile warranty after all, and how many of us will keep the car that long?
