Re: Flat Battery

Hi PhilB. You may have seen the articles about this problem on the Ioniq forum website? In one case it was due to faulty audio unit (Essex) another was fuel pump(Holland) both causing a drain on 12v battery all the time. The other issue is that the USB connection for audio link is live all the time ...

Re: Battery Life??

Hi Terry, your point 2 ref cruise control, only tried it once on a A road in Lake District and found it so jerky ie the moment speed drops below set amount, the car jerks into max acceleration rather than slowly increasing speed. This so put me off i have not used it again.

Re: new member here

Hi Alexsala. You may know now that the plug in Niro was shown at Geneva motor show and is to be available later this year. It has 8.9 kilowatt battery compared to 1.7 kilowatt on hybrid version. Depending on country you are in availability and price is yet unknown. On the plug in version EV is aroun...

Re: new member here

hi Alexsala I had i30 but was diesel. However your question of fuel consumption on the hills to work can be answered. Generally the car will use about the same petrol up hill as the I30 but the moment you are on a level or downhill the fuel used will be less wth the Niro, particularly down hill when...

Re: Foot Parking Brake

Hi greenman. I do take car out of drive if delay in traffic seems long and use neutral with footbrake though I don't like blinding cars behind me if it's night time. I do this because, as is mentioned elsewhere in this subject, the foot hand brake is not secure if car left in drive, particularly if ...

Re: Foot Parking Brake

hi bigt55. Yes the foot hand brake is perhaps the worst feature and like Steve I only use it in emergency's. Also of course it means no one in the car has access to slowing the car in the event of driver incapacity. ( Yes I know it's rare but there are every other safety features in this car. Also t...

Re: Autocar - long-term impressions of the Kia Niro

Hi Dryan1966. Yes water coming in front windows is fairly usual these days (if opened) either during rain or even windscreen washer procedures. Other cars l have had did this when the lip between edge of glass and front pillars is flush or only small lip. Of course inthe interests of smooth airflow ...

Re: Mudflaps

Hi AlanW55, i was going to get mud flats originally but so far have not. The issue of road grim on the tailgate and rear of car generally seems much worse than any other car I have had. I have commented on this on Niro sites before and it has been noticed by others. I thought streamlining a car to i...

Re: New member

No lots o 3's around. The extra toys are worth it as it saves a longer order time for a 2pluz ADAP. The only minus for a 3 is the larger wheels and road tax difference. In the long run am sure the driver will make the most difference to economy / costs. What colour is yours,. I had to have artic gre...

Re: Autocar - long-term impressions of the Kia Niro

Hi Darren. Had Niro 2 since end Jan and live in cool northeast UK. Looked at all the cars of this size including Audi Q2, Mazda, Suzuki, Renault and puegeot. Had i30 before which was faultless for 6 yes before changing for Kia. Have hopes of similar experience with Kia. Wanted to leave diesels, obvi...
