Re: Temporary Spare wheel and tyre

I didn't get RAC membership as I didn't buy the car new. I got it as a demonstrator so it was technically second hand. Even with breakdown membership, they would generally take me to the nearest garage but on a Sunday they would likely be closed and thus I would not be able to get home. At least wit...

Re: Temporary Spare wheel and tyre

I've just bought a full size spare wheel and tyre today and it fills the underfloor area completely. But I think it's a small price to pay for peace of mind since I recently had a bolt go through my tyre on a Sunday almost 100 miles from home and I was very lucky to find an open tyre fitter who coul...

Re: SATNAV speed camera warning

A mobile Wifi unit is a device that connects to the Internet over 3G/4G via a SIM card and broadcasts a WiFi signal to the surrounding area which you can connect to. You would typically purchase it with a set amount of data which lasts for a given period, which you then pay to top up. It's an altern...

Re: Carplay and memory stick

Agree with Recycleman - the socket in the centre armrest is just a USB charger. I'd recommend using iTunes to copy your music onto your iPhone and play it through Carplay.

Re: My Music

'My Music' doesn't work for me either on my first Edition. I'm starting to think it's a US only feature since it's not actually listed in the UK manual I was given.

Re: Audio system losing DAB radio

Thanks, all - the dealer said they checked the connections and all looked good. When I got the car back the DAB radio functioned perfectly well again. Touch wood - the fiddling with the connections sorted the problem out. They also updated the firmware of the head unit at my request so now it suppor...

Audio system losing DAB radio

Has anyone else found their Niro losing signal to DAB radio stations? I found this getting significantly worse recently to the point where I couldn't access any DAB radio stations at all despite being in the suburbs of London where the signal is strong. Listening to a radio station and all of a sudd...

Re: Interesting Auto Express Niro Review

They are also incorrect about the performance figures. 0-60 in 9.7 has been recorded by Autocar with 2 people on board and a full tank of fuel. The top speed is similarly higher (for a short time as long as the battery has charge) The quoted figures are without battery assistance and so should be th...

Re: Don't have and don't want a smartphone !

You can consider turning off the wireless charger. Other than that, you can look at the settings for how aggressive the smart cruise control is, and check the settings for Lane Keep Assist (3 possible settings - Lane Departure Warning, Standard LKA, Active LKA)
