Re: PHEV Scheduled Charging

When you say you set the timer ON, do you mean you are setting an ON time, such as 1am, or are you just switching it on? I would have thought everything would be off when you take the key out, only coming on at the set time?

Re: Kia Care servicing packages

Confirming my post above, I was called back by Kia and had to purchase the servicing package over the phone. The Kia website does not have a payment facility.

Re: Kia Care servicing packages

Partly sorted it, I was viewing the page in portrait mode on my tablet. When I turned it to landscape mode, a VEHICLE LOOKUP box appeared. It said my car is a Kia Niro 1.6 electric hybrid, manual (manual???). The next two boxes are for entering a date and time for call-back so I conclude you can't b...

Re: Kia Care servicing packages

Hi Recycleman, the link takes me to the online form (I was using the correct one), at the bottom of which I have to input my postcode to find a dealer. So I do all this and it finds local dealers. So what? How is this buying the care package online? Did you go to a dealer and buy it online? I can't ...

Re: Kia Care servicing packages

My car is 10 months old and I am trying to buy the Care-3 package online. The website asks you to fill out a form and then to search for a dealer. So as far as I can tell you can't purchase online.....can anyone enlighten me?

Re: Engine oil increasing

If you believe you have gasoline in your oil, then you have a potentially explosive mixture in your engine sump that could be very dangerous if it were to ignite. Get this sorted asap!

Re: Smart cruise control cancelled at low speed

I think you're expecting too much of a system that's ostensibly designed for use in motorway conditions. The radar measures the distance to the car in front, and makes a judgment taking into account speed as to whether the gap is safe or not. I would imagine that at very low speeds this gap would be...

Re: Niro First Edition - Long Term Review

Poorly explained in the manual, p4-59. On the small screen behind the steering wheel, locate the screen that cycles betwen tyre pressure, engine temperature and service interval. Apparently the system should warn when you are close to a service, either mileage or time. I'm on 8,000 miles, 9 months, ...

Re: Prospective new Niro owner

Very tricky to answer on such scanty information. The A/C runs off the lithium battery, the heating works off the heat from the engine ( I assume you mean the petrol engine when you say motor, not the electric motor) . It is the case that the engine can be running under no load, merely providing hea...

Re: Steering wheel locks

Surely the point of a keyless system is that you don't have to faff about with keys "as long as they're in there somewhere". Bit pointless therefore having a key operated steering lock. Keep your keys in a biscuit tin at home and in a metallic lined pouch when you're out and about if you'r...
