Re: The (lack of) future of diesel

It looks like an Outlander PHEV can be had for about £13k still with sensible mileage, down as low as about £8k if you are prepared to risk buying something with about 130,000 miles on the clock (I'm not, for that type of money!) Will have a look at one but I suspect the wife's opinion will be that ...

The (lack of) future of diesel

So... my wife is changing job and is going to have to do some travel in her new role. This will require her to visit people's homes in a rural area. Her current car, an ex-hire Zafira which we bought at exactly 1 year old with 10k miles on the clock for a shade over £9,000 has given us nigh on 70,00...

Re: Niro First Edition - Long Term Review

I had to set the service interval on my Niro myself; fortunately I was aware it is on 10k intervals! Means it gets hoovered twice as often as my previous car... :(

Re: Automatic lights

Interestingly in dismal (damp / grey / sleety) conditions this afternoon I found the opposite - everyone else was driving with lights on, the Niro was set to auto but was still only running the DRLs. I ended up overriding it to put the dipped beams on.

Re: Split decision

Can't advise about charging points I'm afraid, as the PHEV was not on sale when I ordered my Niro2 just under a year ago. Would you mind giving an indication of the difference in monthly lease price between the ordinary Niro (in which trim level) and the PHEV? When we were looking it was form memor...

Heated mirrors?

My Niro 2 is the fifth or sixth car I have had with heated wing mirrors. Every other car which had heated mirrors used a separate switch, even going back to my 1993 Isuzu Trooper. I'm glad that the Niro has heated mirrors but curious why they are on the same switch as the rear demist - a quick wipe ...

Re: Sat Nav route options

If you go into the route, then select the third tab at the top of the screen, it gives the options for either fastest or shortest route, avoiding motorways etc.

Re: Boot undertray

Yes, increasing the capacity is straightforward - a few minutes with a screwdriver for a basic job, a couple of hours with plywood and other tools if you want a more professional look. See my other postings for an example on how I did it (not the only option but I am pleased with the outcome).
