Re: Real world fuel economy
We had our first frost yesterday morning. My typical fuel economy for the 11 mile trip to work dropped from about 54mpg to 45mpg; I suspect as a result of needing the cabin heater to defrost the windscreen and to keep me warm (no heated seats in my Niro 2! . )

Re: My order is in.
Sounds like a great deal. With a lead time like that, perhaps you have benefited from a car that was designated to someone else but who has cancelled?
Anyway, whatever the root cause - well done and enjoy!

Re: ANDROID AUTO™ AND APPLE CARPLAY™ FOR LATEST KIA MODELS
As I'm thinking of upgrading my phone, I wonder if anyone has positive user experience of Apple Carplay? I have got a Samsung Galaxy J5 at the moment, which runs Android Auto, but I have been so underwhelmed by Android Auto after the first couple of times of trying it that I haven't bothered since. ...

Re: Don't have and don't want a smartphone !
The sat-nav will not provide live traffic and speed camera information if there is no smartphone connected. Difficult to gauge your mindset, maybe the exclamation mark indicates you are proud of the fact that you don't want a smartphone. If this is the case, and I apologize if I'm wrong, then why w...

Re: European Driving
Don't know about the motion sensors - we did the channel tunnel trip so it was a short crossing and no need to worry about the sensors. As far as the settings on the lights are concerned - we did 2,500 miles of driving on the right hand side of the road, a fair chunk of which was evening / nighttime...

Re: First experiences with Niro (good, bad & ideas)
I agree with pretty much al of the OP's comments and would also add another - the adaptive cruise control needs to bring the car to a complete stop when necessary, not let the brakes off at about 5mph when you are about 5 metres away from the vehicle in front. @ Sunking555, I have exact same thing a...

Re: OEM Tyres
Out if curiosity, I tried out on damp roads today the grip. From standstill - no wheelspin. On corners - no apparent loss of grip at moderate speed - not dangerously fast but not timid cornering either. The only circumstance that I got the tyres to lose traction was under emergency braking from abou...

Re: OEM Tyres
My car is fitted with the Michelin Energy Savers; I've not found loss of grip to be a particular problem. The Niro isn't a sports car and I don't drive it as such, but nor do I spare the horses. I would come lower road noise and will be trying to get Goodyear efficient grip tyres fitted if possible ...

Re: MY18 build date
Doesn't a healthy lead acid battery actually deliver about 13.2 volts anyway though? Or am I getting it mixed up?

Re: MY18 build date
I have been told by kia that if it were to discharge you just press the button and charge is put across from the main battery. The little battery is also under the rear passenger seat so no loss of storage (increase actually) Whilst I am on this post there is a new manual for my18 which shares with...
