Hi Jim,
Thanks, I have completely ignored the option with the 16'' winter tyres on steel! I'm giving a try with the dealer to understand what does it involve.

Re: Winter is coming! Snow chains
Hello Deguy, The tyres I got are the Michelin Pilot Sport 4. I suppose the same applies to other Niros, at least other FEs. The tyres are very good, actually, but they are not all-season tyres and I have no idea how they perform in Winter with low temp. I'd be prompted to say that getting the winter...

Winter is coming! Snow chains
Hello, I'm planning a few trips during the winter and I'm wondering what's the best way to deal with snow. I own a FE - having 18 inch tyres - and the manual states: "If your vehicle has 18 inch tyres, do not use tyre chains. They can damage your vehicle (wheel, suspension and body)." I su...

Re: Insurance
No experience with Covea, but you mentioned a broker: when getting the quotes through price comparisons tools - assuming this is what a broker uses, to some extent - Aviva never showed up. I mean, I have only checked the cheapest quotes and aviva wasn't there. I went directly to their website and th...

Re: Dash cam
Hi, A follow up: I have placed the mount bottom-left of the windscreen: https://s26.postimg.org/oy9e30z9x/IMG_20170828_191713.jpg It's roughly at the top of the area used for something like a resident permit, and still in the area kept clean & dry by the wipers. Pretty fine for the driver and re...

Re: Car mats included?
I have checked my order and in the order form for the First Edition I got a line item "Mats and Boot Liner", £0, grouped under "Accessories".
I remember they were accessories but provided free of charge by the dealer when buying the car.

Re: Real world fuel economy
Ouch, just wrote a relatively long message but it didn't go through. Ok, let me summarise a real life experience from the long week end, with the First Edition: a) London East end to Broadstairs / Margate today, back and forth roughly on this route https://binged.it/2ggyNuP b) 2 adults + little one,...

Re: Real world fuel economy

Re: Kia Remote Assistant, availability in the UK?
Hello Jim, Not sure, based on the description in the Italian version of Kia.com they seem quite different: - Connected Services are based on data sent to the car, e.g. traffic, weather, speed cameras etc. TomTom > Car - Remote Assistant is a service based on data sent from the car, e.g diagnostics, ...
