Re: Foot Parking Brake
i don't understand the issues over the parking brake. I guess its because most of us in the UK are used to driving with manual transmission and learn to use the handbrake for hill starts. However, I spent a couple of years living in the USA where most people only drove automatics. All the American c...

Re: Coasting guide
Had it operate once today over a 120 mile journey. Seems to be of very limited utility. Has anyone else had it operate on a more regular basis?

Re: All about Connected Services - check these links.
How confusing. The problem seems similar to one reported elsewhere on this forum regarding the equivalent Iphone app. the solution reported there was to disconnect the cable and reconnect. The same works for me - while in Drive! So much for Android Auto only connecting in Park. Not in my car! It doe...

Re: All about Connected Services - check these links.
Thanks Hopp, Does anyone here use the Tom Tom Connected services? What's it like? Does it give accurate timings for traffic delays and automatic re-routing to avoid them? I'm used to using google maps or waze, (my previous car had satnav but only traffic was via TMC which I found to be worse than us...

Re: Switching to HEV from EV
i guess it depends on various factors. It is easy to assume that when in EV mode, the engine is as good as off,but does anyone on this forum know all the tech details? We know that it starts the ICE to provide heating, but it does not necessarily use it for motive power. So, it could potentially run...

Re: Niro CarPlay
I've had a similar issue with Android Auto. It all connects fine. I'll be using google maps, and 30 or 40 minutes into the journey, it disconnects, switches to radio. I've not yet worked out how to reconnect (too busy driving), so have had to switch to using the car satnav. Now got used to keying th...

Re: Downhill battery full charge causes engine noise
Owners Manual Pages 4-53, 4-54 and and 4-57 show that for the PHEV, if fitted with instrument cluster type B, then the central LCD window displays a rev counter when in sports mode. So, my question is.... which models are fitted with type B? I've only seen type A. Does the PHEV even exhibit the same...

Re: Unable to charge and Check Hybrid System warning
Problem sorted - it took them less than 30 minutes - apparently its a common problem. The charging door was not activating the sensor properly. After a few failures, even the orange emergency release may not clear the problem. The mechanic filed some of the metal work away to enlarge the hole in the...

Re: Unable to charge and Check Hybrid System warning
I have hit the problem today. Initially failing to acknowledge that I've plugged in. After engaging the emergency release, I get the click on the wall charger and the blue "connected to car" light, but no green light on the dash. After a few more seconds, there is a 2nd click, and the dash...

Re: New to kia
I agree about the use case. I used to have plenty of work related 250 mile round trip motorway journeys - my previous car was diesel.Great for the long journeys, not quite so efficient for my regular commute (30 miles each way on fast roads) due to the time it took for for it to get up to temperatur...
