Re: Creaks and groans
I believe I've got to the bottom of the problem. I was exiting a multi-storey car park this morning, and was stopped on a down ramp, in Neutral, holding the car with the main brake pedal. As the car in front moved off, I gradually released the brake pedal and there were the creaks and groans. So it ...

Re: Clicking noise
What level of charge is the battery? It should be somewhere between 40-70%, if it's outside this then there is probably a fault. Over to the dealer!

Creaks and groans
When I am driving in very slow stop-start traffic, the car is in Drive, and forward motion is largely controlled by "feathering" the brake pedal against the strong tendency to creep forward from the electric motor. (The traffic is generally moving so slowly I hardly ever need to touch the ...

Re: Sightings
This is amazingly true, I've had mine for just over a month following a waiting time of two months, so three months in total. In all that time I've only spotted one.

Re: new member here
Spot on, Suman. However, the current Niro cossets its battery, seemingly only allowing a charge range between 35-70% (based on my experience) to maximise its life. So what about the plug-in battery which will regularly hit 100%, and quite often discharge down to 10%, or lower, what protects that bat...

Phone wireless charging
I find that my Nexus 5 phone gets very hot when charging from the wireless charging platform. Probably not helped by the enclosed nature of the platform with minimal airflow. Anybody else have this problem?

Re: Foot Parking Brake
Some interesting comments here, it seems we are all agreed the foot-hand brake is a throwback from tractors and WW1 tanks! Have you noticed that when (if) you put the handbrake on, the daylights go off? And if you leave it in Drive when stationary, the electric motor is powerful enough to overcome t...

Adaptive cruise control
Does anyone know if the brake lights come on when the adaptive cruise control causes the car to significantly slow down? A car pulled in front of me today, and braked, and then the cruise control kicked in and my car slowed down quite noticeably. I didn't touch the brake pedal so the brake light sw...

Re: Keeping a smart key safe
I can't believe the keys are transmitting all the time. The button battery would not last very long at all. More likely there is an RFID tag in the key fob that the car detects when you are close. That makes more sense, so the car must be transmitting something to activate the passive RFID chip. Pr...
