Re: USB/media/phone
Thanks for the quick response David.......ex RN myself but served on the grey ones not the black ones. Ahoy Brian, I did serve on a few grey ships, 2 very temporary drafts to the sweeper Highburton and the Chichester. I also did 2.5 year on the Hermes 4th commission. I volunteered for submarine ser...

Re: USB/media/phone
Hi Brian, I leave my USB stick with music files plugged in all of the time, never had any problems due to power surges when starting the car. I don't think my Sandisk stick draws any power to be honest. As for an Android phone, I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ which has wireless changing. Great phone int...

Re: Satnav updates
Topicalcat, we drive down to Geneva quite a lot and tend not to rush. We usually overnight in the suburbs of Dijon. My last car a Volvo XC60 had speed indication on the Satnav, which it converted to the equivalent KPH. Very useful and saved a lot of mental converting. I have not done the journey in ...

Re: Steering wheel locks
I think thieves will be targeting high-end cars, not our lowly Kia Niro's?

Re: Foot Parking Brake
I have had this type of parking break in 2 previous SUV's, a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Kia Sorento. I now have it in my Niro, for me it gives an uncluttered centre console area. And lets be honest, you disengage it once at the start of your journey and once at the end of it. It isn't that noisy in the ...

Re: Spare wheel
The only difference is the diameter of the wheel, the tyre diameters are essentially the same + or - a few millimetres. I have the 18" standard wheels on my trim 4 and got a spare wheel with jack, brace and bag via eBay. All brand new for £139. https://www.thewheelshop.co.uk/kia-niro-16-space-s...

Re: Reversing lights/rear fog lights
Rich, there are 2 of each, which is good as it gives a more balanced look.

Reversing sounder.
When I select reverse, we can hear a muffled bong sound. When I say muffled, it is like someone has shoved a rag down it's throat. My OH has stood outside of the car while I move the car backwards. She say's the sound comes from the front, which seems a bit odd as it is barely audible when stood at ...

Re: Groaning of parking brake
I have had the foot parking brake on 2 previous Korean cars and got used to them. Oddly the manual gearbox version had the normal handbrake. My issue with the Niro is getting used to the foot parking brake, my previous Sorento had electronic parking brake with auto release on pulling away. Leaving t...
