Re: Michelin Cross Climate - fuel economy impact?
Have recently fitted Michelin cross climates to my wifes Fiesta Diesel. On a trip from the Midlands to Chichester this weekend we are recording 62mpg which is about the same as the old tyres. Agree with last comment, they are quiet and ride well. They will save the hassle of switching to winter tyre...

Re: Speed warning on sat nav
Sat nav working off GPS ought to be reliable unless you go round and round a roundabout!

Better to go over your data limit on your mobile phone than get caught going over the speed limit in your car! The penalties on your licence, speed awareness course if you are lucky and the inctease on your insurance premium would pay for years worth of mobile phone data! Never had a speeding ticket...

Take a look at the prices on Giffgaff which Piggybacks on the O2 network. Owned by O2 but a lot of the admin and techie stuff done by members. You can buy £5 or £7.50 or £10 monthly giga bags/ goody bags. I have used for some years for my ipad and entirely happy with the prices and service. You can ...

Re: New UK PHEV owner
No, but what energy you use going up hills you will hopefully recover a fair chunk of going down the other side! You can not recover kinetic energy going downhill in a conventional car. Report back on your mpg going down the steep hill into Fossebridge on the Fosse Way and how the car copes with com...

Re: Home Charger
Has anyone, with solar PV looked at the Zappi charging station from myenergi? This is geared up to vary the charging rate depending on the level of solar generation. http://myenergi.uk/product/zappi/ If it is sunny then letting your car charge for free using your generated solar PV looks smart? It w...

Re: Kilometres per hour
On apple Waz is also available, as is an app called Speed Box which clearly shows either MPH or KPH. My Hyundai speedo was hopless as the marked readings in small type on the speedo went in even 20kph steps of 40,60,80,100,120,140kph, rubbish as French speed limits tend to be 30, 50, 70, 90, 110, 13...

Re: Parking Brake Noise.
Not helped by the recent freezing weather and if you did not use the car for a day or two that would exacerbate the situation. Where does the parking brake operate by the way?

Re: The (lack of) future of diesel
My last car was an IX35 1.7 diesel. I can certainly vouch for the heated seats in cold weather and I would not be replacing it except that I wrote it off. I might have bought another on but the tide has changed and hybrids are the way forward I feel.

Re: The (lack of) future of diesel
A bit too big for me. That is cheap though. A face-lifted version is coming out soon which will serve to knock a few £ off the current version.
