Re: What size SD card is advisable for the sat/nav etc. in the Niro hybrid
Why are you asking this question? The sat-nav should already have an SDcard installed that contains the maps it uses. From time to time the dealer will offer to update maps on the card, not obligatory! Is your sat-nav not working or asking for a card?

Re: EV mileage and noise
Hi Neil,. I gather you have bought an HEV (not the plug-in PHEV model). When you see EV, this means the electric motor is operating, either on its own, or assisting the petrol engine. The engine is operating most of the time in winter, principally to keep you warm! What mpg are you getting? I'm gett...

Re: BULB UPGRADE A SAFE THING TO DO?
When you ask it is a safe thing to do, are you possibly considering oncoming drivers who may find the replacement bulbs too bright. Suggest you check out the legality with Kia and your insurance company. If they can be fitted legally, the beam alignment might have to be adjusted.

TPMS valves
New front tyres needed soon (currently 4mm), what are your experiences of servicing the TPMS valves? I usually go to National, and see they offer a "valve service". Car is 18 months old.

Re: Battery level meter
I have just got my Niro back after the recent clutch actuator recall, and when I booked it in I heard the receptionist allude to a battery management system update. I didn't pay much attention, but have noticed that my battery meter is now regularly showing charge between 60-80%, instead of 40-60% a...

Re: Adaptive cruise control
Just to be clear, I'm talking about braking by the adaptive cruise system, not regen(erative) braking. The latter occurs when you lift off the accelerator, when the brake lights don't come on as you would expect. The latter also occurs when you press the brake pedal, when, obviously, the brake light...

Will be? There already are! Why are you referring to a March 2016 document?

Re: Daytime running lights, switching off.
I believe the PHEV version has its DRLs set in the headlamp cluster. If you're really bothered about their appearance above the fog lights, perhaps enquire about changing the lights? Imagine it would be expensive, if even feasible. Interestingly, or not, the DRLs go off when you apply the foot parki...

Re: Emergency braking feature
I very much doubt it would react quickly enough to detect a pedestrian running suddenly across your car, who would only be in the detection zone for a very short period of time. I believe it needs to be something fairly substantial in front of you that your car is approaching, such as a stationary o...
