Daytime running lights, switching off.

Hi folks
My Niro 4 has daytime running lights, but I prefer the look of the side lights, which could also serve as daytime running lights, and they are higher up, so more noticeable.
Is there a way of disabling the cheap looking daytime lights?

thanks

I've had a look at the manual , fuse box , and there isn't one specific fuse for the DRLs .. It is a legal requirement for the DRLs to be on , if you do disconnect them and you take it for an MOT it will fail .. Also if you have an accident and the insurance find out , then that will be a modification , and could affect the claim . The MOT regulations were changed in April 2018 . The side lights aren't bright enough for DRLs .

Thanks Steve, I had a feeling that was the case, seems such a wasted opportunity, when you compare to other cars.

I believe the PHEV version has its DRLs set in the headlamp cluster. If you're really bothered about their appearance above the fog lights, perhaps enquire about changing the lights? Imagine it would be expensive, if even feasible. Interestingly, or not, the DRLs go off when you apply the foot parking brake, I've seen it in the reflection of the car in front. Possibly they'll go off if you only press the pedal down a notch or two, but the brakes may drag, probably a crap idea....
