My Niro (PHEV) seems to be using a lot of petrol when it's in EV mode. First noticed this at the beginning of last month when a four mile trip saw the petrol gauge go down by 8 miles while the EV gauge was also reducing but at a slower rate. I always have the car in EV mode, letting it switch itself to HEV once EV gets down to 0, A/C is off, heated seats and heated steering wheel are also off. It doesn't seem to be related to outside air temperature: a 21 mile trip at 9/10deg C saw EV go down from 30 to 9 (21 miles) and petrol from 309 to 296 (13 miles) while a 17 mile trip at 2degC saw EV go down from 24 to 7 (17 miles) and petrol from 334 to 329 (5 miles).

Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

Even though you have the AC off, it sounds like you have the heating on. Even if none of the lights are illuminated on the display, the heater can operate until the "off" button is pressed. If the windscreen isn't misting up, then I tend to turn the seat heater on and the cabin heater off to avoid using any petrol. The seat heater appears to have minimal effect on EV range

Thanks, I'll give that a try. A 10 mile trip today (with heater on) didn't use any petrol, only electric. It's very erratic.
