SatNav display

Apologies if this is a "noddy" question. I can't find an answer online or in the manual- or on this forum.
So, question: On the full screen satnav display there is a button on the left hand side which says "Auto" and above it is a countdown in distance (eg 400 yds, 300 yds etc). It seems possible to grey out the button- but I have no idea what it's for. What does it do/show please?!

Mine is a new PHEV- and I am delighted with it. Have had Toyotas for years, so this is my first Kia. At the moment I am thinking it to be far superior to the CHR I had- but early days....and another topic.

Thanks in advance.

Simon

I also wondered that and I got a reply that it is to do with the automatic scaling as you approach a junction so that you can better see the directions you are supposed to take. Hope that helps.

Thank you. I’m not sure how much use that facility is- but I’ll keep an eye on it. Appreciate the reply. :)

You can leave it auto mode and it will scale the maps to give what the system thinks is the best view. If you want you can overide this by tapping the auto key on the sat nav and then set the scale at whatever distance you wish. The system will use this distance setting for all mapping until you tap auto again to put it back into auto mode.
