I have a Niro 2. On occasions on switching on the ignition I get Six Chimes before the normal "start tune"....any idea what this means, I can't find any information in the manual.

Do you have Keyless? Maybe the battery is going low ...

Apparently not happening all the time (quote "on occasions"). Are you turning any of the safety systems on and off? Not fastening seat belts causes chimes but it usually keeps going until fastened, not specifically 6. If none of the red lights are lit on the dash it can possibly wait for next service using Kia diagnostic to pinpoint.

With this cold weather could be the "Ice Warning" which goes off with chimes if the outside temperature is under 5 deg.

Thanks for your response. I sometimes park the car in the garage front first so I have to reverse out. Without thinking about it at the time, I now realize I had been leaving my seat belt off so that I could see easier when reversing, putting the belt on before moving away. What fooled me was the 6 chimes were heard before moving!! making me think there was another problem.
