Hi,
New member!
I went for a Niro First Edition. After almost 4 months and 3000 miles, I can say I'm very pleased: it's a great car.

Hi knew, Welcome on board, I also have the first edition and am also very pleased, apart from the foot-operated "handbrake". For such a sophisticated vehicle, to fit something straight off a tractor, complete with loud ratchet noise, unbelievable. I've raised the issue with my dealer and Kia, who "note my concerns".

Hi Alan,
indeed, the "american-style", foot-operated "handbrake" surprised me a little bit when i saw the interiors for the first time and I understand your point, although having an old-fashion 'handbrake' rather than the new button-operated ones, makes me for some reason slightly more comfortable.

So far no defects at all, with the exception of a squeak coming occasionally from somewhere behind/around the A/C control panel, when breaking. You can barely hear it, though.

Most of my expectations and requirements were around safety, technology, comfort and fuel consumption and so far the car has met them quite well.

Based on my experience there are a few minor improvements that can be done, 60% software (literally) and 30% hardware, and if Kia is active enough, in many cases it's even stuff they can potentially deliver with the scheduled services or with software upgrades.

Where I'm slightly less happy, it's around the car management, rather than the car itself: nowadays I'd expect something more interactive, mobile and collaborative connecting Car+ Kia+Dealer+Owner.
I'm more "where is my app??" rather than "let's give Kia/the dealer a call"!
