New here, so Hi all

Hi all you Niro owners.

Ordered a new Niro 4 for collection in early March (new plates), so is there anything I should watch our for or be aware of after I have taken delivery?

Also, I see on the Kia website that there are free map updates for seven years. Is this something I need to push my dealer to do?

Thanks

The updates are free but you have to pay £25 as set by Kia to have them installed by the dealer unless you can like me have them install FOC when having a service.

How far did you have to twist their arm to get a free update? a little way or full force.

I tried and failed the first one would not do it, at all, and I have had to pay the second one the £25

I also got my map update for free as it was done at the same time as a service. This was at GWR Kia in Brentford.

However, I recommend skipping the built-in maps if you can and use the Waze app for Android or iOS using the built-in Android Auto or Apple CarPlay feature. Much more up to date maps, better traffic avoidance, and you get the other benefits of Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.

I agree about WAZE, used that before I got update, however WAZE did let me down in GLASGOW , missed airport car park by 1/2 mile, but yes I do find it very good otherwise

No twisting of arms, so long as I have it done with the service it's FOC

The first dealer would not do it when they did my service, so I had to go to a second one to gat update. I am upset about this, as apparently abroad this is part of the service, when I was told it was not.
