Like to know whether the air-con is cold during the hot summer.

Mine seems cool enough. Just make sure the dial is turned anti- clockwise several times. It doesn't have a stop point.

Maybe deactivate climate control for the maximum effect?

As Emperor said ..... I had my air con on once , and didn't realize the heat was still on . Very easy mistake to make , as we all have the map on display cuz it looks cool ..... It sure is cold enough for this country .
