Hi all. Having problems sending text messages via voice control at the moment, very hit and miss. Can usually reply to a incoming text via voice but unable to initiate a new text message.
Phone calls via voice usually work but not always.
Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling AA as well as using original cable with phone. Next attempt vwill be with different phone. Anyone had similar problems. Had the usual car updates this year if course

I'm using Oreo 8.1.0 with Android Auto on a Xiaomi Redmi Note4 with no issues with regard voice commands - for making calls, navigation, and playing media. I haven't tried using it for initiating text messages yet. Will try it out over the next few days and let you know.

I previously had a Oneplus X running Android 6.0.1 and that did have issues with Android Auto - periodically losing the connection, or deciding that the phone was off-line when it wasn't.
