The 2020 spec has an electric 'hand' brake. I have the earlier one with a foot operated parking brake - I HATE electric parking brakes so for that I am glad I've got what I have. Also the 2020 model has LED headlights - my one has halogens

Interesting as there has been so much adverse comment on here about the foot brake being a bit ‘agricultural’ I test drove a Niro Hybrid last year and it did not bother me but In the the end I went with a Kona EV as it came out first and dispenses with the gearbox. It has an electronic parking brake. But it is only required when parking as you can use the hold function when stopped at junctions. I assume the Niro EV is similar. Either way beats the old fashioned lever.
