My sat nav has failed stopped working
Took the SD card out and re inserted it kept saying incompatible. After several attempts it did sort of load up but nothing is correct and no sound rang my kia dealer to be told they cant look at it until October the 15th I am not at all happy with that service from kia on a new car with less than 2000 miles done any ideas as to what I could try. As i feel like taking a hammer to it.
Thanks

Assuming you have the JBL radio unit, there is a tiny reset button just to the right of the on/off volume knob. You need a biro or something similar to press it.

Tried the reset button no luck all I get is check SD card so would think it is the SD card faulted will have to wait now until the 15th of October for main dealer to look at it.

I tend to use google maps anyway (via Apple CarPlay) - in all honesty, I think the traffic updates / planning is better, particularly away from motorways. I have had a couple of occasions where the Kia sat-nav has taken me off a motorway because it looked busy, only for the alternative route to be even worse, but seemingly not mapped as having delays. (I get that there is going to be a feedback loop effect on this, i.e. the alternative route will get busy and the motorway might quieten down, if lots of traffic all suddenly diverts).

The guidance on which lane to be at large / complex motorway junctions isn’t as clear via Google Maps though.

Hope you get your problem resolved. Nigh on a month for that sort of fix sounds like poor service.

I have come to terms with having to wait a month now. I have put my thoughts on the dealers review page.
The latest on it is it now tries to load and then says SD card incompatible insert correct SD card. I drove home from cornwall yesterday with Google maps through android auto and got fed up with her saying congestion ahead so tried Waze. Overall though I still prefer the built in Sat Nav as I always tether it through my phone. It also shows all road speed limits and dings where the speed cameras are. I suppose it is just one issue but it has pxxxxd me off some what.

So did you get it fixed John?

It's long passed the 15th Oct and it's so nice when thread starters actually close of their threads with how the matter was resolved :)

Fair comment
In the end I took the car to a kia dealer in Milton Keynes as they could look at it on the Saturday 5th October. They replaced the SD card and also updated the maps to the latest version. They also done other software updates one of which I think was to do with how the battery charges as it charges differently now than before I took it. Everything works fine again now.

As a matter of interest in what way is the charging of the battery different?

My car goes in for its update before the end of the month and I will get an idea what to expect.

The engine from start up runs longer than before the charge goes over 3/4 full before the engine cuts out. The battery has only dropped below 1/2 full once by 1 bar
It is a bit like the battery behaves in sport but it is in eco. Once it has got to the 1 bar over 3/4 it seems to be as before except as said rarely goes below 1/2
Hope that makes sense
