HV 4 disappointing MPG

I have noted some forum members stating MPGs in the 60s. I'm disappointed that my Niro 4 HV can only seem to achieve an average around 55. This is despite me attempting to drive with a very light touch, so much so that I often have a white van/BMW/Audi/boy-racer souped up Corsa driving up my arse.

I mostly adhere to speed limits and have set the magnetic braking to maximum 3. I rarely use sport mode and only for a quick overtake (usually one of those lycra-clad individuals cycling at 30mph plus).

I haven't done a real world consumption test (eg tank to tank) as these usually depress me even more as the dash MPG display is usually optimistic. Perhaps mine is pessimistic? Should I do a check?

Anyone else disappointed with HV MPG?

MK

Hi, I have a First Edition 66 plate. I have been disappointed with the "claimed" MPG from the dash display. This usually shows 40 - - 43 MPG. So over 6 months have been keeping a tank to tank record. This gives 3928 Miles and 350.56 litres of fuel = 50.94 MPG.

Quite poor really for a small car. Many non-hybrids will do better than this. I suppose the London congestion charge saving might be a benefit, but not much else.

My overall consumption and driving style is in line with Meadowknight's. Raefil's is probably right for three summer months. Your 51mpg might be a bit low, particula4ly over summer months, you don't mention a driving style. My recent mpg in colder weather is around 45mpg.
