It took a while but I have found things that bug me about The Niro.
Opening the window when the car is wet causes a torrent of water to cascade onto you and your passengers.
Non of the controls are backlit, haven’t a clue what I am trying to press.
Carpets are terrible. Didn’t expect Roller luxury but something that wasn’t fuzz sprayed on plastic.
Still don’t really rate the footbrake.
Other than that........all good
Minor irritation with Niro
Is yours a Niro 1 without roof rails? Mine has them and I don't get the torrents you refer to. My controls are backlit in red, sure you haven't got the dimmer switch turned down too much? Agree about the "handbrake", wish it was electric like the new EV.

The most irritating thing is front parking sensors turn off and you have to press the button to get them back on. So when I pull on my drive up to the garage wondering when the bleeps are going to start and don't I then remember I have to turn them on shocking idea

Almost useless controls for navigating music and podcast folders/albums over the Bluetooth connection, requiring you to operate the phone directly. This is probably because of limited support for AVRCP profile.
Seat and steering wheel heating buttons are inconveniently located out of view under the folds of your winter jacket and lack tactile distinction, meaning you need to look at them instead of the road.
My Niro came configured to lock the doors above say 15kph and only open them again when the engine was switched off. This was actually quite good unless you need to get the kids out of the back door in a hurry, because although you could get out, the car prevented you from opening any other doors if either motor was "running". Even the dealer told me he expected the drivers door to override that. So we reconfigured it and now it unlocks when you select park, which sides the above problem, but means of you do select park e.g at a level crossing, your doors are unlocked until you set off again.

You also have a button in the door panel which unlocks the doors on the PHEV, and then automatically locks again when you drive off,no need to switch off.
It is interesting that the HEV and PHEV have different systems for what you would think would be basic configuration
