Question about brake regeneration.

Hello. Have just taken delivery of a nearly new Niro ev. (It’s now got 65 miles on the clock). Really pleased with it so far but today was messing around with increasing the brake regeneration and although that works well, the heating went very cool. In fact it felt as though it had gone off altogether. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
