The main thing is to plan ahead and avoid braking hard. Allow the vehicle to coast where possible and brake lightly in traffic. Also keep the speed below 65mph wherever possible.

If by "getting the best out of it" you mean economy, then Suman's advice is spot on. If you mean performance, then always drive it in Sport mode. Either way, I'm sure you'll work it out!

Hi. Got my new (18) Niro 3 just over 2 weeks ago. Very pleased to date. Question to all, the EV power indicator never gets much above 50%. Is this normal?

Yes, suspect this is to manage the long term battery life (lithium batteries will do a very large number of small charge / discharge but less deep discharges before performance degrades).

I've had all the way up to fully charged a few times - but it took 10 miles of constant downhill down a mountain in the Alps to achieve this and the car then stayed in EV mode for longer than normal, presumably as a programmed way of getting the battery back to 50% charged quickly.

Hi, new to Kia, Automatic and Hybrid, Changed from diesel Citroen Picasso, C Excellent car and great dealer) so bit nervous about change however having decided I needed an automatic I thought a 6 month old demo with 2700 on the clock and 6.5 year guarantee and £5000 off the price seemed a decent buy, Have had it a month now and I am generally pleased with it, minus points poor sound quality from radio, creaks and groans from rear when exiting parked car, Parking brake? But My main question to all you existing owners is about "Which magazine including it in their top 10 Dirtiest petrol cars, this doesn't fit with my understanding of the supposed benefits of this car??

Hi r whinne . Not sure about your groans /creaks from rear of car when your 'weight' comes off the suspension. Does it make same noise if you just leave in Park , no foot brake on?
Audio quality, most people say quality is commensarate for price. I find it comparable with similar priced vehicles too
Make sure the sound set up has not been adjusted to silly settings and ensure all speakers are working .Check speakers by minimizing other speakers by using fade and back front option settings.
With regard to dirty emmisions, I agree with you that according to Which the Niro is poor comparatively! Don't know why but hybrids generally maximise engine off status, which means that it's far more frequently not at optimum running temperature, hence higher emissions .
Perhaps some other viewers can expand.

I'm intrigued by the 'Which?' emissions comments - do they declare what these higher emissions levels are? I cannot locate the data, but suspect as h2onorth say that it is likely dues to frequent 'cool' engine starts. Niro is still a brilliant car.....
